Writ, 15 Jan. 1 Edw. II.

SOUTHAMPTON. Inq. Monday after the Purification, 1 Edw. II.
Estcosham by Wemeruge. A messuage, 25a. 1r. arable on the south side of Portesdon, and 25a. arable on the north side, common of pasture in a marsh, and rents (extent given), held of the king in chief by serjeanty, and he rendered to the king 2s. 8d. yearly, and ought to do guard in the castle of Porchestre in time of war for ten days, with a man and horse fully equipped at his own costs.
John his son, aged 10, is his next heir.

BERKS. Inq. Monday after the Purification (?) 1 Edw. II.
Erle. A messuage, &c. 126a. arable in a close, 48a. arable in the common field, 13a. meadow, 8a. pasture, 8a. wood in a close called ‘Le park’ with deer, 7a. alder-wood, a fishery in the Thames, and rents (extent given with names of tenants), held of Sir John de Erle by service of two attendances yearly at his court of Erle, and rendering 2s. for a parcel of land in the park.
Witele. 7a. land, 10a. meadow, rents, &c. (extent given with names of tenants), held of the king, with other lands in Cosham, by service of a fourth part of a serjeanty at the castle of Porchestre in co. Southampton.

OXFORD. Niwenham. 6a. land and pasture for 51 sheep, &c. held of the king in chief, as of the earldom of Albemarle, by service of 1lb. cummin.
